PKR and PH respect the right of every party to determine its own approach and strategy in facing the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election.

SEREMBAN: PKR and Pakatan Harapan (PH) respect the right of every party to determine its own approach and strategy in facing the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election.

PKR secretary-general Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh said the party, however, remained firm that any political decision at the state level must be guided by the interests and aspirations of the people of Negeri Sembilan.

“Hence, Keadilan remains focused on championing issues concerning the people’s welfare, economic opportunities, cost of living, balanced development, as well as transparent governance with integrity.

“Based on the principle of bulat air kerana pembentung, bulat kata kerana muafakat, (underscoring the importance of unity through consensus), PH stands firm that sacrificing trust for the sake of victory is not part of our political strategy,” she said in a Facebook post today.

She said ensuring that the national development agenda and efforts to safeguard the people’s welfare continue to be implemented effectively remained the cornerstone of every political step taken by PKR and PH.

Fuziah, who is also Deputy Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister, said differences in political strategies during a state election were common, given that politics is the art of the possible.

“The entire Keadilan and PH machinery is urged to remain focused, disciplined and work with full determination to win the confidence of the people and defend the PH mandate in Negeri Sembilan,” she said.

The 36-seat Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly was dissolved on June 5, with the Election Commission (EC) setting July 28 for early voting and Aug 1 for polling.
