Kota Kinabalu: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sabah hopes to contest more state seats in the coming 17th State Election (PRN7).

Sabah PKR Political Bureau Chief Datuk Seri Christina Liew (pic, 3rd from right) said this is something that Sabah PKR needs to take seriously.

“We hope to secure more seats than we currently have. This is something we are seriously considering because we are not just working among ourselves, but also need to look at potential cooperation partners we have not yet identified.

“But for now, we are focusing on the needs of our people, sitting down and discussing to understand their problems,” she told reporters after attending the Aneka Rasa Sutera launching ceremony, here, Monday.

However, she said the process of discussing seat allocation is still ongoing among leadership in Sabah.

“We are still discussing peacefully, as mentioned previously. PKR will first decide internally and then we will discuss the formula. “This means we will identify areas we believe we can win, determine potential winning candidates and then discuss this at the federal and Sabah levels. “We may also discuss with other parties interested in cooperating with us,” she added.

For the record, PKR currently holds only two seats, namely Api-Api, which Christina herself holds and Inanam held by Datuk Peto Galim.
