Plane bursts into flames after crashing at popular Greek airport as pilot makes miraculous escape

A plane crashed and burst into flames at a popular Greek airport, with the pilot miraculously escaping unscathed.

Shocking footage from the scene at Zakynthos Airport shows the F-16 jet engulfed in flames as firefighters rushed to tackle the blaze on Thursday (9 July).

The pilot is said to be in good health, local media reports.

Greece‘s Hellenic Air Force said that the plane, which was participating in a training flight, made the emergency landing due to a “malfunction”.

“The causes of the incident are being investigated,” it added.
