A small business jet has been ripped in half after crashing on a highway in Texas, killing one and injuring five others.
The plane appeared to suffer a mechanical fault before colliding with a moving car on the highway in Laredo.
The plane seemingly lost contact with air traffic control before it crashed onto the highway around three miles from Laredo International Airport.
Social media footage showed two people using a sledgehammer and shovel to break open the cockpit window and open the door.
"It looked like part of a movie. I was in shock," Zayra Garza, who came upon the accident, told KARK.
She said that three people, who looked like teenagers ran from the plane.
Another, who appeared to be the pilot, also rushed from the burning plane.
The plane, a NetJets-operated Cessna Citation Latitude business jet, had departed San José del Cabo, Mexico, at around 6:18pm local time and was bound for Austin, Texas.

During it's fight the plane diverted toward Laredo, along the US-Mexico border, according to flight data from FlightRadar24.
Laredo Police Public Information Officer Jose Baeza told reporters at the scene of the crash: "Regrettably and tragically there is one deceased involved in this crash."
He also confirmed that federal agencies, including the National Transportation Security Board and the Federal Aviation Administration, have been notified and officers with the FBI are on-site.
