CHINESE plane maker the Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China (Comac) said on Tuesday that it participated in the Singapore Airshow 2026 held at the Changi Exhibition Center, showcasing the C909 and C919 aircraft while further deepening exchanges and cooperation with partners.
During the air show, the C919 aircraft, the C909 medical aircraft and an Indonesian airline TransNusa C909 aircraft will jointly be displayed in the static exhibition area, with the C919 also performing a flight demonstration.
The C909 aircraft accommodates 78 to 97 passengers, with a range of 2,225 to 3,700 kilometers. It features excellent takeoff and landing performance on short, narrow runways, as well as in high-temperature and high-altitude airport conditions, along with strong crosswind resistance, according to the release the Comac sent to the Global Times on Tuesday.
The C919 aircraft accommodates 158 to 192 passengers, and has a range of 4,075 to 5,555 kilometers. Its advanced cockpit design provides pilots with an exceptional flying experience, while its low noise levels and fresh cabin air quality ensure a comfortable journey for passengers.
To date, over 200 aircraft of the two models have been delivered, operating on more than 800 routes and facilitating over 36 million passenger trips.
Comac said it places great emphasis on the Southeast Asian aviation market.
In recent years, the C909 aircraft has entered service in Indonesia, Laos and Vietnam, with a total of nine aircraft operated by TransNusa, Lao Airlines and VietJet Air. These aircraft have collectively opened more than 20 routes and facilitated over 700,000 passenger trips.
Comac said for the first time in Southeast Asia, a C909 medical aircraft equipped with ophthalmic diagnostic and surgical facilities was displayed.
The C909 medical aircraft is modified from the base model, with its cabin layout adaptable to various needs. It is designed to meet multiple application scenarios, including medical assistance, patient transfer and the transportation of medical rescue teams, said Comac
