When doing business, you’re bound to receive feedback from consumers, especially if you’re doing food business. So, if you can’t stand the heat, you better stay out of the kitchen!
Former Malaysian badminton player, Tan Boon Heong recently ventured into the food business where he sells dried pork meat. In his Facebook post yesterday (January 24), Boon Heong shared a complaint he received from customers, who were blunt about what they really thought.
The dried meat tasted like plastic.
Boon Heong did not defend his food and in fact, he was willing to compensate the customer for their unsatisfactory experience.
“Maybe that batch of dried meats really had issues, but I am willing to refund, or get you a new pack.”
The ex-badminton player said that as of now, he has sold more than 2,500 packs of dried meat and so far, he has received only 2 complaints from customers, which “he thinks is normal circumstances.”
“I will take 100% responsibility and I will not run away from problems. Those who have been supporting me since MCO will know that.”
“Talk to me, don’t talk to my friends”
In his post, Boon Heong also informed the customers to slide into his DM and be upfront with him about any issues. It would be much appreciated if Boon Hong was informed of the problems from the customers themselves, and not from his friends.
“They’ll send me up to 5 minutes long of voice notes, it’ll give me headaches. And it’s not even their problem, so don’t disturb my friends,” Boon Heong said politely.
He also thanked his loyal customers for their continuous support and admitted that running a business is not a walk in the park.
It’s one way to make the customers feel heard and appreciated when their feedbacks are taken seriously.
