PLATS helps boost profits for 7,300 Ampang Jaya traders

AMPANG JAYA, May 11 - Platform Selangor (PLATS) has helped more than 7,000 traders here boost their profits under various digitalisation and branding initiatives, said Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) vice-president Hasrolnizam Shaari.

He said these initiatives include exposure to safe internet use to improve each business’ competitiveness.

“PLATS is the state government’s initiative to empower and help expand microbusinesses. It is an important instrument to help traders grow. So far, more than 7,300 traders are registered and active in Ampang Jaya.

“MPAJ will always (help) the people in Ampang Jaya grow. Besides the usual approaches like community programmes, we believe that through collaborations with target groups like traders, they can grow their respective businesses,” he said when met after a Safe Internet Campaign event held by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) at The Campus Ampang here today.

The event, held in collaboration with Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporation), or MBI, through PLATS, gathered 80 entrepreneurs to educate them on safe internet use.
