SANDAKAN: The identity of informants who channel information to the police and security forces will not be disclosed so as to ensure their safety, said State Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun.
He assured that the identity of informants would remain confidential and the public should not be hesitant to pass information related to crime activities to the authorities.
“The community here is encouraged to continue channelling information about crime activities without hesitation to the security forces including police.“There are people who do not know how to pass such information to relevant authorities.
“One of the reasons people do not pass on information is because they are worried that the identity of the informant will be exposed. We assure that the identities of whistleblowers would be kept confidential,” he said.
