Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Chief ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa previously stated that no reports had been received about the incident so far.

“From what is shown in the video, the act is believed to be an offence under Rule 138(1) of the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Rules 1959, which prohibits the installation or use of flashing warning lights on vehicles that are not authorised emergency vehicles,” he explained.

The MPV turned out to be an official vehicle of a government ministry

In a recent update, Mohd Zamzuri confirmed that the driver has been identified and the vehicle was being used for official duties by a government ministry.

According to Sinar Harian, he added that a summons will be issued for the vehicle to undergo inspection soon.

“The vehicle is being used for official duties by a government ministry, and the use of the flashing lights and siren has been approved by the Director General of the Road Transport Department (JPJ),” he said.
