PM Anwar chairs special development meeting in Sarawak

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim leads a special meeting in Kuching to coordinate federal and state development plans and address local issues.

KUCHING: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim chaired a Special Divisional Development Meeting at the Satria Pertiwi Complex here today.

The meeting formed part of his working visits to each state for direct discussions on development projects and public welfare.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof and Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg were among the key figures present. Also attending were Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Mustapha Sakmud and members of the Sarawak state cabinet.

The hour-long session served as a crucial platform for coordinating planning between the federal and state governments. It also reviewed current issues requiring immediate attention and action.

Following the meeting, Anwar was scheduled to visit the Sukma Ria Ramadan Bazaar. He will later attend the Sarawak-level MADANI 2026 Iftar event at the Sarawak State Jamek Mosque.
