CYBERJAYA: The “threats” that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim received over his comments of the Israeli government following the war in Gaza were in the form of “statements” from the European MPs.

According to Free Malaysia Today, Anwar told the reporters that a media statement will be released regarding this.

“As long as I was given the mandate and trust by the people as the head of the government, I would not succumb to or be intimidated by such threats, “ he said during his speech yesterday (Oct 24) at the Malaysia Stands with Palestine Rally held at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

He said Malaysia will retain its status as a sovereign nation and it will stand its independence as well as continue defending the country’s and the people of Palestine’s freedom.

The Prime Minister also voiced strong criticism of the United States’ perceived bias, condemning Russia in the context of the Ukraine conflict while extending unwavering support to Israel during the Palestinian invasion.

Anwar emphasised how Israel’s perceived confidence, bolstered by backing from the United States and Europe, resulted in distressing incidents, including the deliberate targeting of infants in hospital and school attacks.
