Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has returned home after being discharged from hospital following a successful laparoscopic hernia surgery.
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim returned home this evening after being discharged from hospital.
In a Facebook post, Anwar uploaded a photo of himself reading a book with the caption “Alhamdulillah, back home”.
Earlier, the Prime Minister’s wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, was reported to have said that Anwar was expected to be discharged from hospital today after receiving treatment.
On Monday, Anwar was reported to have successfully undergone an elective laparoscopic surgical procedure to treat a para-umbilical hernia and was under close monitoring by a team of medical specialists.
