PM Anwar sends prayers to Brunei Sultan ahead of knee surgery

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim wishes Sultan of Brunei a successful surgery and lasting health as he prepares for a knee replacement procedure.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended prayers and well-wishes to the Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah.

Anwar conveyed his message in a Facebook post after receiving news the Sultan is scheduled to undergo medical treatment.

“I pray that His Majesty is granted lasting good health and remains under the protection and grace of Allah SWT,” Anwar wrote.

He also expressed hope the Sultan would continue to rule Brunei Darussalam with wisdom and sound judgment.

According to a statement from the Brunei Prime Minister’s Office, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah is scheduled for a right knee replacement surgery on Jan 18.
