Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim says national unity, institutional reform and fighting graft are key to Malaysia becoming a great nation in the region
PUTRAJAYA: The MADANI government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening national unity, implementing comprehensive institutional reforms, and uncompromisingly fighting corruption.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said these are the core tenets to ensure Malaysia emerges as a great and stable nation in the region.
He stated that the peace and stability enjoyed today are a direct result of the solid cooperation among all partners in the Unity Government.
“This proves the country’s real strength lies in team unity and leadership with a clear direction,” he said.
Anwar urged against underestimating the need for unity and strong consensus.
“Do not belittle or trivialise the need to unite, to consult firmly and stably,” he said in his speech at the Monthly Assembly with staff of the Prime Minister’s Department.
“We can achieve amazing things because we work as one solid team; we are capable of implementing extraordinary actions and making a big impact,” he added.
The Prime Minister expressed confidence in the people’s capabilities and the civil service as the backbone of policy implementation.
He said this commitment has allowed the nation to record significant progress over the past three years.
Malaysia is now on the right track to leap even further, according to Anwar.
“I am confident, God willing, in one or two years, Malaysia will continue to rise as a great country in our region,” he said.
