Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim calls on all Johoreans to return home and vote for trustworthy leadership in the 16th Johor state election tomorrow.

JOHOR BAHRU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has once again urged all Johoreans, including those living outside the state, to return home and fulfil their civic duty in the 16th Johor state election tomorrow.

Anwar, who is also Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman, said the election is a crucial moment in determining the future direction of Johor and its people for the next five years.

“I call on all Johoreans, including those who are away from home, to return and exercise their people’s power to choose a trustworthy, capable leadership that will truly work for the state,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Anwar said PH had proven its ability to lead the MADANI Government by implementing key reforms, attracting more investments, raising salaries, providing more dignified job opportunities and resolving various problems and projects that have been delayed for a long time.

“We have also succeeded in restoring Malaysia’s image, which is now respected and trusted on the international stage. This spirit of reform and good governance is what we will bring to elevate Johor to greater heights,” he said.

Anwar called on Johoreans to place their trust in PH to lead the state based on integrity, good governance, justice and equal opportunities for all communities.

The Prime Minister said the election was an opportunity to reject those who defend the theft of public funds, as well as politics that lack ideas and rely solely on racial and religious incitement to gain votes.

“May Allah bless Johor and grant the state a trustworthy leadership, opening a new chapter that is more prosperous, fair and secure for all Bangsa Johor,” he said.

Anwar also delivered his appeal through a traditional Malay poem:

“Nasi ambeng dijamah bersama,

Tanda kasih dalam jemaah,

Kejayaan negara sebutan dunia,

Bermula dengan jari yang memangkah.”

A total of 172 candidates are contesting 56 seats in the 16th Johor State Election.
