GEORGE TOWN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim visited PAS Spiritual Leader Datuk Hashim Jasin at Penang Hospital today.

Anwar, on a one-day working visit to Penang and Kedah, described Hashim as an old friend who was in good condition.

“I also conveyed greetings from my wife to Hashim and his family,” he said in a Facebook post.

He added that they prayed for the continued well-being and speedy recovery of the 87-year-old leader.

Hashim was transferred from Tuanku Fauziah Hospital in Perlis to Penang Hospital on Feb 18 for a stenting procedure.

During his hospital visit, Anwar also met a Ministry of Health nurse recovering from a road accident.

He said the sacrifices of healthcare workers are greatly appreciated for their significant contributions.

Before departing, Anwar received an update on the hospital’s ongoing upgrading project.

He later attended the opening of the Mengkuang Titi Mosque and a Nuzul Quran celebration in Permatang Pauh.
