Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim pledges the MADANI government will rigorously implement the King’s address, focusing on anti-corruption and the 13MP.

SERDANG: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has pledged that the MADANI government will rigorously implement the Royal Address delivered by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia.

Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said the King’s address at the opening of Parliament was clear and good.

“The government will implement it firmly,” he told reporters after an event here.

In his address, Sultan Ibrahim ordered a large-scale fight against corruption with no one protected from legal action.

His Majesty said anti-corruption efforts must also target bribe givers, agents, and abettors, not just the recipients.

The King also stated that the 13th Malaysia Plan beginning this year must focus on people’s well-being in education, housing, health, and public transport.

Sultan Ibrahim stressed that the education system must be strengthened as the foundation for building the nation’s identity and future.
