PM assures no shortages, prices controlled ahead of Aidilfitri

PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has assured the public that the prices of goods are under control ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, with no supply shortages, thanks to the successful implementation of the Festival Season Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP).

Speaking to reporters after launching the Singgah Madani programme at Mydin Hypermarket in USJ Subang today, Anwar highlighted that the continuous efforts by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) have contributed to stabilising food prices, with some essential items even becoming more affordable during this festive period.

“There is no shortage of goods, and the SHMMP has been successful in keeping prices low, particularly for items such as eggs and many other essentials,” said Anwar.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to Mydin for its role in helping to provide reasonable prices for consumers during the festive season.

The Singgah Madani programme, aimed at promoting the policies and efforts of the Madani Government, seeks to inform the public about government initiatives that ensure the well-being of citizens.

As part of this programme, the KPDN also launched a Price Reduction Campaign, which has become a key feature of the ongoing event.

During his visit, Anwar took time to inspect the prices and quantities of goods available at the hypermarket and formally launched the price reduction campaign.

He also inaugurated the placement of the Madani Malaysia logo at the store.

Additionally, the Prime Minister introduced the Singgah Madani Happy Hour Sale, which gave shoppers the chance to purchase essential goods at affordable prices, a move aimed at alleviating the cost of living for the public during the festive season.

Also present at the launch were KPDN Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, and Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad Managing Director Datuk Dr Ameer Ali Mydin. – March 27, 2025
