PM officiates Ijtima’ Madani Ulama, visits organic paddy initiative in Kelantan

PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim officiated the Ijtima’ Madani Ulama and Guru Pondok Kelantan, before attending a series of scheduled engagements on the concluding day of the Program Madani Rakyat (PMR) 2025 in Kelantan.

The Ijtima’, or gathering, serves as a principal platform to strengthen the role of ulama and traditional Islamic scholars in elevating religious education and preserving the pondok heritage in the state. The event commenced at 9:15am at the Professional Hall, Universiti Teknologi MARA Campus in Machang.

The Prime Minister was expected to visit the Kemubu Agricultural Development Authority (KADA) site in Desa Gemalai Baruh Alami, Kota Bharu, today where he inspected an ongoing organic paddy cultivation project. The location is noted for its agroecotourism potential, featuring pesticide- and chemical-free rice fields.

Later in the day, Anwar is expected to launched the Gelombang Madani Negeri Kelantan initiative at the Main Hall of Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital in Kubang Kerian, before concluding his visit by officiating the closing ceremony of PMR 2025 Kelantan at 2:15pm in the grounds of Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV.

The three-day PMR 2025 Kelantan programme, which concluded Saturday, was led by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), in collaboration with the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department (ICU JPM), with support from various ministries and government agencies.

Centred around the theme ‘Science, Technology and Innovation for the People’s Wellbeing’, the event adopted a carnival-style concept featuring over 100 direct public services, cutting-edge technology showcases, and grassroots engagement initiatives in line with the comprehensive MADANI Government approach. - August 9, 2025
