KOTA MARUDU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim urged Bandau voters to choose a representative who can work constructively with the Federal Government to resolve the constituency’s longstanding issues.
He told supporters here that Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Zaidi Jatil would be given one month after polling day to list and coordinate solutions to Bandau’s most urgent problems if elected.
Anwar said the accelerated timeline reflected Putrajaya’s readiness to step in quickly and warned against leaders who prioritise timber interests and contracts over public welfare.
He highlighted persistent water, electricity and road issues in Sabah, noting that RM1.2 billion had been channelled to the state and that major water supply problems were targeted for resolution by 2026.
Zaidi welcomed the timeline as a strong signal of Federal commitment, saying the campaign’s momentum had grown with Anwar’s visit and pledging to prioritise youth opportunities, rural infrastructure and housing needs.
