
PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim visited the family of the late Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin at his residence in Damai on Friday afternoon, offering condolences and prayers for the departed Sabah politician.
During the visit, Anwar expressed sympathy to the family of the Kinabatangan Member of Parliament, wishing them strength and patience during their time of mourning. He also prayed that the soul of the late Bung Moktar would be blessed and placed among the righteous.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor accompanied the Prime Minister in paying respects.
Bung Moktar, 66, passed away on Thursday at a private hospital in Kota Kinabalu due to complications related to his lungs and kidneys.
The veteran politician had recently retained his Lamag state assembly seat in the 17th Sabah state election, winning by a majority of 153 votes in a six-cornered contest. He first entered national politics in 1999, securing the Kinabatangan parliamentary seat, and served the constituency for six consecutive terms, leaving a long legacy of public service in Sabah. - December 6, 2025
