PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is reportedly meeting Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at the Perdana Putra Building, possibly over the Negeri Sembilan crisis.
It is learnt that the meeting took place immediately after the National Economic Action Council (MTEN) meeting, chaired by Anwar.
Based on a photograph shared by Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil with the caption 'in progress', Transport Minister Anthony Loke, who is also the DAP Secretary-General, and Home Minister cum Secretary-General of Pakatan Harapan, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, are also in the meeting.
Earlier, Anwar said that he is expected to meet Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Umno President, today to discuss developments in Negeri Sembilan.
This was also confirmed by Ahmad Zahid, but he refused to reveal the location and time of the meeting.
Yesterday, Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN) Negeri Sembilan announced that they were withdrawing support from the Menteri Besar, who is also the Sikamat State Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
Its chairman, Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias, reportedly said that the decision was made unanimously, involving all 14 Umno/BN ADUNs in Negeri Sembilan, following the current customary crisis.
However, Aminuddin announced in his press conference that he would continue to administer the state even though 14 BN ADUNs had withdrawn their support from him.
He said that he had informed the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir about the current position of the ADUNs who supported him. – April 28, 2026
