Ahmad Fadhli Shaari, the Perikatan Nasional (PN) Youth chief, has fulfilled the public's long-awaited desire by voicing his support for the removal of Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi from his position.

Ahmad Fadhli argues that Zahid's numerous court charges send a negative message to foreign investors and believe that the government should demonstrate its seriousness in combating corruption and criminal breach of trust.

Ahmad Fadhli expresses concern that having an individual facing 47 court charges as the deputy prime minister might undermine the government's commitment to eradicating corruption. He further suggests the appointment of a new Finance Minister who can fulfil the responsibilities more effectively.

He asserts that separating the roles of the Prime Minister and Finance Minister, as advocated by Pakatan Harapan in the past, is crucial for good governance. He points out the failures resulting from former Prime Minister Najib holding both positions, which have been exposed in the courts.

However, Ahmad Fadhli is doubtful that the current government will accept his suggestions. In the event of this rejection, he urges the public to express their dissatisfaction with the government by voting against them in the upcoming state polls.

Ahmad Fadhli's statement, long overdue, is in response to Rafizi Ramli's criticism of the opposition's focus on organizing motorcycle convoys instead of working towards improving the government.

Ahmad Fadhli explains that these convoys are a manifestation of the youth's frustration with the current government, serving as a means to express their disappointment.

We believe that the movement will gain momentum as more individuals, beyond just the youth, become dissatisfied with the government's performance.

However, we do not endorse any demonstrations on highways, but would rather emphasise that the government pays attention to the people's concerns regarding these issues.

The two issues mentioned above—the removal of the DPM and the appointment of a new MoF—are significant challenges that PMX refuses to acknowledge.

By appointing a clean Deputy Prime Minister and delegating the Finance portfolio to another candidate, PMX can enhance his credibility in the eyes of the public and the world.

The sooner PMX takes these actions, the stronger his credibility and stature will become, and the less hollow his promises will sound.
