KUALA LUMPUR – Perikatan Nasional (PN) has confirmed it is ready to cooperate with Barisan Nasional (BN) in Negeri Sembilan.
The matter was announced by all five PN state assemblymen during a press conference held at a hotel in Seremban earlier today.
PN comprises three PAS assemblymen: Kamarol Ridzuan Mohd Zain (Paroi), Abdul Fatah Zakaria (Bagan Pinang), and Mohd Fairuz Mohd Isa (Serting).
The remaining two assemblymen are from Bersatu: Mohamad Hanifah Abu Baker (Labu) and Ridzuan Ahmad (Gemas).
Mohamad Hanifah, who is also the Opposition Leader, said the five PN assemblymen are prepared to work with the 14 Umno/BN assemblymen in Negeri Sembilan to ensure the stability of the state government.
“This is to develop Negeri Sembilan and to ensure the well-being of the people,” he said.
The position was stated after BN earlier announced it had lost confidence in Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
If BN agrees, the numbers would be sufficient to form a new state government, or at least lead to a change in the Menteri Besar.
At present, BN holds 14 state seats, compared to Pakatan Harapan’s 17, while PN has five.
It is also understood that the state government could fall if the BN-PN alliance is formed. – April 27, 2026
