PNOC secures 21,000 metric tons of LPG from US

MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Energy (DOE) on Monday said that the Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) has secured 21,000 metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from the US.

The LPG cargo, scheduled for delivery from May 20 to May 31, is expected to boost available supply.

"Ensuring a stable and reliable supply of LPG is central to our responsibility to protect the welfare of every Filipino, from households that depend on it for their daily meals, to small businesses that keep our communities running. Overall, the government continues to strengthen the supply of LPG and other fuels while taking proactive steps to support stability amid global volatility," Energy Secretary Sharon Garin said.

As of April 17, 2026, the DOE said that the country’s LPG inventory stood at 40.26 days.

The country’s gasoline supply is seen to last up to 54.47 days, diesel, 50.13 days, kerosene 129.93 days, and jet fuel, 60.69 days.

The DOE said that the third and fourth diesel shipments secured under the government’s Emergency Energy Security Program will arrive on April 21 and April 24.

"The government is actively managing imports to bolster reserves. The third cargo of diesel, which consists of around 320,000 barrels of diesel, or 50.88 million liters, from Singapore will arrive in Subic. Meanwhile, the fourth shipment, likewise from Singapore with 330,000 barrels or 52.47 million liters, is scheduled to arrive in Davao," Garin said.
