MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday beefed up security around the People Power Monument (PPM) in White Plains, Quezon City by deploying 14,900 personnel in anticipation of thousands of people expected to join the Trillion Peso March coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the EDSA Revolution.

“We have deployed 14,900 [because] we are expecting that based on our said in Filipino during a briefing at Camp Crame.

Although activities are centered at the PPM, some protesters also stage rallies in other open spaces and parks simultaneously.
