THE Philippine National Police (PNP) said Sunday that an administrative review is underway into a collision involving a PNP-marked vehicle on EDSA in Quezon City last Friday, a video of which went viral online.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred on April 17 on EDSA northbound near Main Avenue in Barangay Socorro involving a PNP-marked Toyota Coaster operating under the Libreng Sakay Program and a public utility bus.

Authorities said the collision resulted in minor property damage, with no reported injuries.

“An administrative review is ongoing to determine the full circumstances of the incident and to ensure compliance with established protocols. Appropriate actions will be taken based on the findings,” Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a statement.

The PNP provided free rides to commuters affected by the three-day nationwide strike mounted by transport group Manibela from April 15 to 17 over staggering fuel price surges driven by ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
