MANILA, Philippines —The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said it is validating reports on the alleged whereabouts of business tycoon Charlie “Atong" Ang, whose arrest has been ordered by a court in connection with the case of missing sabungeros or cockfighting enthusiasts.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government last week offered a P10 million reward for anyone who can provide information that could lead to Ang’s arrest.

“Yes, we received calls already, they gave information, but we are still validating them through our intelligence division,” Maj. Helen Dela Cruz, spokesman of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, said in a press briefing at Camp Crame.

Dela Cruz said that only those who provided verified information that would lead to the capture of Ang, who is wanted for alleged kidnapping with homicide and kidnapping with serious illegal detention, will be given the reward.

The identities of the tipsters will remain confidential, she said.

Dela Cruz said the public can call hotlines 0960-6923025 and 0945-6115926 if they have information about Ang.
