Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino has urged fans to stick with the players.

Pochettino was speaking ahead of their Carabao Cup fourth round tie with Blackburn Rovers.

He said, "I know it is difficult to keep your feelings but it is normal. The fans want to win and sometimes are frustrated when we don't win. The message is to believe and trust in us and in the end it is about the process."

On the importance of the Cup, Pochettino also said: "I told you before. It is going to be really important for us. We are going to try and play with our best team. Maybe some players we need to rest because after Saturday we cannot take some risks."

The Argentine also apologised to Brentford for the dismissal of assistant coach Jesus Perez on the weekend.

He added: "He will be available tomorrow, I think he deserved to be fined. I need to apologise to Brentford and he knows he made a mistake. He wanted to help the team and get the ball back. The attitude of Jesus, I want this type of behaviour but he forgot there was a new rule that if you go into the other technical area you get sent off."
