POLAND wants to expand its pork exports to the Philippines, Polish Minister of Agriculture Stefan Krajewski said Tuesday.
“I believe we can compete with other countries in the world, but we need to understand that the Philippine market is the biggest export market for Poland right now,” Krajewski told reporters at a Polish food event.
Meat shipments from Poland totaled 25,009 metric tons from January to June, according to latest data from the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI).
Brazil remained the top meat supplier during the period at 429,691 MT, followed by the United States with 105,380 MT, and Australia with 47,629 MT.
Poland’s pork shipments to the Philippines amounted to 2,566 MT in the same period, BAI said.
Meanwhile, Poland’s agri-food exports reached over €58 billion in 2025, yielding a trade surplus of nearly €20 billion and accounting for close to 16 percent of its total exports.
About 75 percent of these went to the European Union, with the remaining 25 percent going to non-EU markets, including the Philippines.
Poland’s agri-food exports to the Philippines jumped 30.6 percent to $106 million in 2025 from $81.1 million in 2024, driven by dairy products — including milk, cream, buttermilk, whey and cheese — as well as meat and edible offal.
Separately, Polish meat exports totaled over €13 billion in 2025, or more than 22 percent of its total export value.
Beyond pork, Krajewski said Poland wants to export apples to the Philippines, where most of the fruit currently sold is imported from China, the United States, New Zealand and Japan.
“It’s one of the areas we’ve been working on for a long time, but I hope it will be accelerated now,” Krajewski said.
