Poland will reopen Bobrowniki and Kuznica Bialostocka border crossings with Belarus on November 17, easing restrictions imposed over security concerns.

WARSAW: Poland will reopen two border crossings with Belarus on November 17.

The Bobrowniki and Kuznica Bialostocka crossings were closed in September following Russian-led military exercises in Belarus and 21 Russian drones entering Polish airspace.

Warsaw had previously considered delaying the reopening until mid-November to show solidarity with NATO ally Lithuania.

Lithuania closed its land border with Belarus in late October due to airspace disruptions caused by smuggling balloons.

Its border will remain shut until the end of November.

Poland’s interior ministry confirmed Bobrowniki will reopen to passenger cars and trucks registered in the EU, EFTA countries, and Switzerland.

Kuznica Bialostocka will reopen exclusively for passenger cars.

“The planned activities are aimed at resuming the flow of people and goods,” the ministry stated.

It said the decision responds to expectations from entrepreneurs, carriers, and people commuting from Belarus to Poland.
