Police appeal for witnesses after Klang petrol station shooting leaves man seriously injured

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 8 — Police are investigating a shooting incident that took place at a petrol station in Klang late last night, which left a 34-year-old unemployed local man injured.

Selangor police chief CP Datuk Pahlawan Shazeli Datuk Kahar said the South Klang District Police Headquarters received a call from a member of the public at about 11.13pm yesterday, reporting gunfire at the station.

“Initial investigations revealed that the suspect had fired several shots at the front of the victim’s car, hitting the front part of the victim’s body,” he said in a statement today.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, and that the motive is still being determined.

Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to come forward and assist in the investigation by contacting Senior Criminal Investigation Officer ASP Aminuddin Mahadi at 013-2104006 or the South Klang District Police Operations Room at 03-33762222.

The incident went viral on social media after videos showed the victim lying on the ground covered in blood. 

Police vehicles and several officers were seen at the scene to maintain order as the man was taken to hospital by a medical team. 

Kosmo! Online reported that the victim sustained gunshot wounds to his abdomen and chest after being hit three times. 

It is understood that he has eight prior criminal records and is currently wanted under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma).
