- A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after police responded to a disturbance at Teesside Crematorium during the funeral of 17-year-old Cole Worthy.
- Mr Worthy was one of five young men killed alongside armed response officers Pc Matthew Blades, 37, and Pc Tom Clough, 38, in a fatal head-on crash on the A66 on 22 August.
- Cleveland Police swiftly attended the service at around 12.30pm on Wednesday, allowing the funeral to resume shortly afterwards while officers remained in the area to provide reassurance.
- The disruption follows the earlier ramming and extensive damaging of a Middlesbrough property linked to the teenager, with police previously stating the men in the vehicle may have had links to organised crime.
- The service coincided with the funeral for Pc Blades in Hartlepool, while local schools remained open during Mr Worthy's ceremony despite earlier political rows over school closures during previous funerals for victims of those killed in the crash.
