Police arrest more suspects over A66 crash that killed seven people

  • Cleveland police have arrested five further individuals, including a 16-year-old boy, in connection with the events leading up to a fatal collision on the A66 in Teesside.
  • The tragic crash on the A66 claimed seven lives in total, leaving two police officers and five other people dead as detectives continue their investigation.
  • These latest arrests follow the detention of 12 other people on Monday regarding alleged criminality prior to the crash, bringing the total number of recent arrests in the case to 17.
  • The initial arrests involved offences including participation in an organised crime group, possession of a firearm, and possession of Class A and B drugs with intent to supply.
  • One of the suspects, 26-year-old Cameron George of Redcar, has been formally charged with possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs and possession of criminal property.
