
KLUANG police have arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in Kampung Bukit Batu Machap, Simpang Renggam, on Sunday.
Kluang District Police Chief ACP Bahrin Mohd Noh, told Bernama today, the incident took place at approximately 12:17 PM when a maroon Perodua Bezza entered the victim's property. As the victim and her husband stood at the front door, three individuals approached them.
One of the suspects then brandished a pistol, pointing it at the couple before firing four shots.
The suspects subsequently fled the scene after firing two more rounds. Thankfully, neither the victim nor her husband sustained any injuries.
The suspect was apprehended at Pusat Setia Perdagangan Simpang Renggam at 7pm on Sunday. Police are investigating the case under Section 3 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971 and Section 307 of the Penal Code, which pertains to attempted murder.
A remand application for the suspect is scheduled to be made at the Batu Pahat Magistrate's Court today, Bernama reported.
