
Keningau police crack down on illegal street racing, arresting suspects for drugs, betting and immigration offences during a late-night operation.
KENINGAU: Police inspected 120 individuals and 105 vehicles during a late-night operation targeting illegal street racing in the Bandar Baru Bataras area.
The integrated operation, conducted from 11.30 pm to 3 am, followed public tip-offs and gathered intelligence.
Keningau police chief Supt Yampil Anak Garai said the inspection led to the discovery of suspected Methamphetamine and ketum water use.
A man was subsequently arrested under Section 12(3) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Police also detained 10 men under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act for failing to produce valid identification documents.
The Traffic Division issued 25 summonses for various traffic offences during the same operation.
The operation involved 36 personnel from various divisions including the Criminal, Narcotics and Traffic Divisions and the Special Branch.
