Police Chief Stops His Convoy to Help Injured Rider on KL Road, Directs Traffic While Waiting for Help

A motorcycle rider got into an accident this morning (January 16) after hitting the side of a car when he shifted from the left lane to the right lane.

Coincidentally, Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Tan Sri Razarudin Husain’s convoy was also there during the incident and he was spotted exiting his car before rushing toward the rider to help him.

The incident took place on the Kuala Lumpur – Seremban Highway during the peak hour this morning at 7:37 AM, and the scene was captured by CCTV cameras in the area. According to a Facebook post by PDRM, Razarudin and his convoy were on their way from Razarudin’s residence to Bukit Aman to attend a monthly gathering.

Other officers who escorted Razarudin helped the rider and carried him to safety, while the IGP helped by controlling traffic.

Razarudin said when the accident happened, he immediately asked his driver to stop the car and told other officers to call for medical help. It was also revealed that the victim, who is in his 50s is a member of the Malaysia Volunteers Corps Department (RELA).

“He was injured in the ankle and right hand, and was brought to Hospital Cancelor Tuanku Muhriz UKM for treatment,” Razarudin said.

In the meantime, the head of the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT), Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said that investigations found that the rider hit the side of a Honda Civic in the right lane while he was trying to switch lanes.

The driver also filed a report for the accident, reported Sinar Harian.
