Waytha Moorthy's commentary on his Facebook page on a recent incident outside Parliament raises valid concerns about the conduct of the police and the government's commitment to the ideals of reform.

He says, “I was shocked to see this video clearly showing high handedness of the police towards a political leader cum activist Saudara Arutchelvam and his friends who were prevented from joining the rest of the other leaders at Parliament in a peaceful gathering...”

It is indeed disheartening to witness such incidents of police high-handedness towards activists attempting to engage in peaceful gatherings.

Waytha Moorthy rightly points out the irony in the situation where Prime Minister Anwar himself had faced injustices during the reformasi movement.

The expectation that the current government, led by PM Anwar, would address such issues and prevent the recurrence of police misconduct is a legitimate one.

Waytha Moorthy's question about the inability of the government and the Home Minister to control the behaviour of law enforcement officers raises important questions about accountability and oversight.

The reference to "refomasi" and the slogan "Kerajaan Madani" is thought-provoking. It calls into question whether the ideals of reform and a civil government are being upheld in practice. The disconnect between the aspirations of the rakyat for real change and the actions of the men in uniform is a cause for concern.

In conclusion, Waytha Moorthy's commentary highlights critical issues surrounding police behaviour and government responsibility.

It prompts us to reflect on whether the ideals of reform and civil governance are being upheld in the current political climate.

Are we practising what we preach? We'll leave that to the conscience of PMX's government.
