  • Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani sustained a fractured thoracic vertebrae and other injuries in a car crash in Manchester, New Hampshire, on 30 August.
  • Prior to the collision, Giuliani and his spokesperson, Ted Goodman, were flagged down by a woman reporting a domestic violence incident, which they then reported to police, authorities confirmed.
  • Police said the crash occurred on I-93 northbound, almost directly opposite the scene of the domestic incident, shortly after Giuliani and Goodman had reported it.
  • Authorities have identified 19-year-old Lauren Kemp as the driver who rear-ended their vehicle, with investigations ongoing into whether distraction was a factor.
  • Despite his injuries, Giuliani's head of security stated he is eager to return to work, and President Donald Trump announced he would award Giuliani the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
