AUTHORITIES are actively searching for two suspects believed to be involved in the assault on the 12-year-old son of former Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar stated that the suspects and motive behind the incident have yet to be identified, with detailed investigations underway.
“We are still conducting thorough investigations, including information based on recorded statements,” he told reporters today.
“At this stage, we are working to trace the suspects and the motive can only be determined once the suspects are identified. Therefore, the motive behind the attack and the threats remain under investigation.”
Shazeli added that police inquiries include reviewing CCTV footage from the scene. “I can say that the CCTV recordings have somewhat assisted the police investigation, but not comprehensively,” he said.
Yesterday, Shazeli confirmed that police will collaborate with relevant agencies to trace the owners of the telephone lines used to issue the threats, with the investigation proceeding under Section 507 of the Penal Code.
So far, statements have been recorded from six individuals related to the incident, including the son of the former PKR Deputy President.
The attack occurred at around 2pm two days ago, when two men riding a motorcycle allegedly assaulted the boy and injected him with a syringe containing liquid. - August 15, 2025
