
A POLICE corporal has pleaded not guilty to seven counts of raping a fifteen-year-old girl, with the alleged offences occurring in multiple locations including a Royal Malaysia Police vehicle and various school facilities.
Muhammad Farhan Abdul Karim, 34, entered his plea before Magistrate Ana Rozana Mohd Nor at the Kangar Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
The accused, who was represented by legal counsel Hasnor Arysha Hamdan and Nurul Hanani Che Nor, requested a trial for all charges brought against him.
The prosecution, led by Deputy Public Prosecutor Natasha Azmi, alleges that the criminal acts took place between November 2024 and October of this year.
According to the charge sheets, the corporal used a Proton Waja patrol car belonging to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) as one of the sites for the alleged assaults, specifically while parked in front of a secondary school's design and technology workshop.
Further details provided during the proceedings indicated that the offences were also allegedly committed within the same school’s male and female lavatories.
Additional locations cited in the charges included a local hotel and a private residence situated in Taman Hijrah.
Under Section 376 of the Penal Code, the defendant faces a mandatory minimum prison sentence of ten years and a maximum of thirty years, in addition to corporal punishment by caning, should he be convicted.
Magistrate Ana Rozana granted bail set at RM42,000 for the collective charges.
The court further imposed a strict condition prohibiting the accused from approaching the victim until the legal proceedings have concluded.
The case has been adjourned until 20 January for mention, pending the submission of forensic reports.- December 30, 2025
