KUALA LUMPUR: Police have detained Gerakan Anti Rumah Anutan Haram (GARAH) rally coordinator Zamri Vinoth and several other individuals. The arrests are connected to a rally planned for outside a shopping complex in the city.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus confirmed the arrests when contacted. He stated that further details would be released at a press conference.
A Bernama check at the scene found police personnel deployed to maintain order. The rally, scheduled for 9pm, last night did not proceed as planned.
It was previously reported that police had not permitted the organisers to proceed with the event. This decision was based on security intelligence and feedback from relevant parties, including owners of premises in the vicinity.
