Police deployed an unconventional tactic to catch dangerous drivers... by dressing up as leprechauns ahead of St Patrick’s Day.

Las Vegas officers, wearing sparkling green, crossed major roads in the city to "grab drivers' attention" and cite anyone who failed to yield to a pedestrian or was traveling at unsafe speeds.

Nevada law requires drivers to slow down or come to a stop when approaching pedestrians in marked crosswalks.

In a post to X on Thursday, 12 March, LVMPD said, "While the leprechaun brought some holiday spirit... the luck of the Irish shouldn’t be the only thing keeping pedestrians safe."
