Police forced to ring van driver blocking emergency response

Police officers were forced to call a van driver and ask him to move after he accidentally blocked their path on the motorway.

Bodycam footage shared by Thames Valley Police shows officers, who were on their way to an emergency, dialling the number on the back of the van after he failed to notice their blue flashing lights.

“Are you on the M40?,” an officer asks the oblivious driver, who repeatedly apologised after he realised he had been blocking the police car.

“We know this driver meant no harm,” said TVP Roads Policing, “but it’s a good reminder for everyone using the motorway – please move over when it’s safe to do so.”
