POLICE are actively searching for a man who attempted to rob a 25-year-old woman at Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) in Kuala Lumpur last Sunday morning while she was filling her vehicle’s tyres.
Brickfields District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Hoo Chan Hook, told reporters that the incident occurred around 7.10 a.m., when the suspect, riding a motorcycle, approached the victim’s car and tried to open the door.
“The suspect attempted to open the car door to take the complainant’s bag, which was inside the vehicle.
“Realising his actions, the victim and her friend immediately stopped him from opening the door, leading to a struggle,” Chan Hook said.
“The victim was also punched on the hand and head by the suspect.”
The suspect ultimately fled on his motorcycle without obtaining any valuables or cash. Investigations revealed that the motorcycle was using a false registration number, and further intelligence work is ongoing.
“Police have prepared a photofit sketch of the suspect, and efforts to track him down are being conducted vigorously,” Chan Hook added. He confirmed that the case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code.
Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any information that could lead to the apprehension of the suspect. - February 4, 2026
