KUALA LUMPUR – Police are on the hunt for two men suspected of assaulting two individuals with a machete and a metal rod during a fight outside a nightclub in Brickfields early this morning.

Brickfields District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood, said the incident occurred around 2:15am today in front of the Kingfisher Club, Jalan Tun Sambanthan, following a MERS 999 emergency call about a fight.

“Upon arrival, police found that two male victims, aged 33 and 47, both of Indian descent, had been attacked by two male suspects who are known and have been identified,” he said.

“Investigations revealed that an independent witness saw the first victim in a verbal altercation with one of the suspects near the club. The second suspect then struck the victim using a machete and a metal rod. Both victims sustained injuries and were taken by ambulance to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment.

“The first victim was treated in the yellow zone (moderate injuries), while the second was treated in the green zone (minor injuries)".

Ku Mashariman added that police seized several items believed to be connected to the case.

“The suspects, believed to be in their early thirties, fled the scene immediately after the assault. They are urged to surrender themselves to the Brickfields District Police or the nearest police station,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with dangerous weapons. Investigations are ongoing. - August 9, 2025
