Sungai Buloh police have identified personnel seen in a viral clip of a patrol vehicle stopping at a restaurant, with an internal investigation now underway.

PETALING JAYA: Police have identified the personnel seen in a viral video showing a patrol vehicle stopping at a mamak restaurant here last Thursday.

Sungai Buloh district police chief Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor confirmed the officers involved are now subject to an internal investigation.

He stated that the personnel seen in the clip were from the patrol car unit under the Sungai Buloh district police headquarters.

He also added that an appropriate action will be taken should any misconduct be established through the ongoing probe.

The 12-second clip, which circulated widely on social media, shows a police Mobile Patrol Vehicle driving along a road before stopping outside the restaurant.

In the footage, a restaurant worker is seen approaching the vehicle and handing two white plastic bags to the driver.

Police first detected the video online at about 7.50pm on Saturday.

The footage later drew various reactions from the public, with many calling for authorities to investigate the incident.
