A Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with two counts of rape and one of grievous bodily harm with intent.
Inspector Jason Wu, who works in the force’s detention section and is based in Colindale, north-west London, is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
The charges are over alleged offences said to have been committed against a woman in August 2019 and October 2021, that were reported to the Met in June 2022.
An investigation was then launched by Metropolitan Police detectives who work in public protection, the force said.
Wu, who has been suspended from duty, was charged via postal requisition on May 15.
