Police are currently investigating a case of domestic violence involving a high-ranking government official and a 30-year-old woman. The incident took place in the Inanam area.

According to the Kota Kinabalu district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaidi Abdullah, they have received three police reports regarding the matter. Two of these reports were filed by the woman, who claimed to have been assaulted by her husband on April 19 and July 18 of this year.

The investigation papers have been opened under Section 323 of the Penal code and Section 18A of the Domestic Violence Act. The third report was made by the complainant's husband on July 25, and the investigation is being conducted under Section 427 of the Penal Code.

Mohd Zaidi addressed concerns about the delay in investigating the reports. He explained that the investigation papers are still in the process of being completed. Earlier, the woman, identified as Wong, came forward as a victim of domestic violence and urged the police to take action by thoroughly investigating the reports she had made against her husband.

Wong stated that she made a police report after experiencing three incidents of alleged assault by her high-ranking government official husband, who holds the title 'Datuk' and works in a ministry in the state. Domestic violence is a serious issue that affects individuals regardless of their social status or positions in society.

It is essential that all complaints are thoroughly investigated to ensure justice is served and that victims are protected. In this case, the police are taking the necessary steps to investigate the claims made by Wong and her husband. However, it is important to note that investigations take time, and the police are currently in the process of gathering evidence and conducting interviews. It is crucial to allow the authorities to complete their investigation thoroughly without rushing to conclusions.

Any form of domestic violence is unacceptable and goes against the principles of a civilized society. It is imperative that victims of domestic violence step forward and report the abuse to the police. The authorities, on their part, must ensure that these complaints are taken seriously and that the necessary actions are taken to protect the victims and hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions.

In conclusion, the police are actively investigating a case of domestic violence involving a high-ranking government official and a woman. They have received multiple reports and are in the process of completing their investigation. It is vital to support the victims of domestic violence and trust that the authorities will take the necessary actions to ensure justice is served.
