Police have received five reports alleging the Glamping with Pride event could cause social issues and breach public decency, with an investigation underway.

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating five reports lodged against an advertisement for the upcoming Glamping with Pride programme in Selangor.

Kajang Police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof said the reports allege the event could cause social problems and breach public decency.

One report was lodged around 6 pm on Thursday, with the investigation conducted under Section 504 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

He advised the public to uphold moral values and refrain from acts intended to insult others or disturb public peace.

“Strict legal action will be taken if such activities continue,” he said in a statement.

Anyone with information is urged to contact investigating officer ASP Nur Ayuni Abd Aziz to assist with the investigation.

Earlier, JAKIM director-general Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee said authorities were closely monitoring the programme.

He stated authorities would not compromise on any effort to normalise unnatural sexual practices. – Bernama
